Is that all there is?

The hair is making a brave effort to return, even if it is a weird colour, well natural, and I'm not used to that. I was hoping it would come back as quickly as it went and I would wake up to ravishing auburn curls but I suppose there are wigs for that.

The old man says I should throw away my wig and think skinhead, it was a cool look, oh yer? But then he would, he's already bald. Women are from earth after all and men, they are space cadets.

It's an interesting male/female thing.  After a few years, the men don't seem to worry about their baldness (or their enormous stomachs) but us girls, well, we worry. And judging by the amount of embarrassed callers at my door, I think they are worried too.

It's a great way of getting rid of Jehovah's Witnesses though.

Green eyed monster

whilst I'm putting my feet up on Brighton seafront I've got a few tough acts to follow - Susie is currently climbing Everest, because it's there and Ruthie has just finished a sell-out play at the Royal Court and Zelda is about to open a splendid gallery... and I am extremely proud of all of them (and only a tiny bit jealous).

And Alexa's new skill is photography, see above.

Georgia on my mind

This sunny morning I was woken by the starting gun of the Brighton marathon. Right now, Georgia, a lovely girl and part time taxidermist is running the marathon for Cancer Research UK.

This time last year we all walked down to Brighton pier to cheer the exhausted runners onto the finish line. This year getting to the bathroom is a major achievement.

You want to be good don't you? Like Georgia? Go on, sponsor her for Cancer Research UK. And you haven't even had to put on running shoes. I promise you, sponsoring her will make you feel good as well, without even doing anything.

Spring lamb

yesterday I stroked a three day old lamb, delivered by our chum Alan, that's it I'm afraid, no more moussaka. I asked the lamb what shampoo it was using because it was SO soft.

Barbie goes bald

Mattel To Make Hairless ‘Barbie Doll’ For Cancer Victims
Following up on the ongoing campaign on Facebook ‘Beautiful and Bald Barbie’, toy manufacturer Mattel will be creating a bald version of its Barbie doll for young cancer patients who suffer from hair loss due to cancer treatments.
The doll, who will be a bald friend of Barbie, won’t be available in stores; rather it would be distributed exclusively to hospitals in the US and Canada that treat children with cancer.
“We made the decision not to sell these dolls at retail stores, but rather get the dolls directly into the hands of children who can most benefit from the unique play experience, demonstrating Mattel’s ongoing commitment to encourage play as a respite for children in the hospital and to bring joy to children who need it most,” Mattel posted on its Facebook page.
The doll will come with “wigs, hats, scarves and other fashion accessories to provide girls with a traditional fashion play experience”, the company wrote. Wigs and head coverings can also be interchanged or completely removed.
