How can it get any better?

The sun, sea and swimming have improved my mobility and increased my stamina. But I'm not going back to England unless it has stopped raining. And what's the chance of that?

Homers home

No, not that one. The one who was born on Ithaci.

We took a boat trip to one of the prettiest places I have ever seen.
My next aim is to be fit enough to swim like this.

I have had a few ideas about a future career, I think fish are easier to eat than to catch.

Nicholas (Caged)

Meet Nicholas, he spent the night in Zelda's towel. A nifty lidl cricket.

He was a bit confused by his whereabouts and he was last seen wandering off down the beach singing to himself. Badly.

Sage, rosemary and time...

Apart from those blasted night sweats, this is the fittest I have been in a year. I know that's not saying much but the sea and swimming have helped everything.

Along with the gorgeous kid goats, there are swallowtail butterflies and green lizards. Breakfast is real Greek yoghurt and honey and sweet watermelon. After a Greek coffee and a gift of some honey cake there's lunch, Greek salad and Mythos beer.

You can hear the sea, the goats and a lonely Nightjar from our room and smell the wild oregano, thyme and mint...

So I've found this shepherds cave, well actually I have bought it. It will be very cosy, There's room for all the family as long as they are not allergic to goats and can cope with the smell.

Scorchio!

Phew, the €6.90 parasol is our new best friend. Watching all the Brits turn a darker shade of lobster is not a pretty sight.

We're going to Ithaki to hook up with Homer and Odysseus on friday.

Bring me (inner) sunshine

I was feeling a bit hot last night even though poor Zelda was shivering, enduring the air conditioned freezing gale. But even that wasn't enough for Tammy girl, so I did the only decent thing, I photographed the sunrise.

Seeing double

Not quite got the look right yet...

It takes three days to totally relax into a holiday.

Then you start doing very daft things like buying Prada and Ray Ban sunglasses which are cheaper than the parasol.

The chrysalis

After 22 hours travelling, Zelda and I made it to our glorious hotel on Kefalonia. I staggered around a bit at first as the temperature is currently 34 degrees and the onc said be careful about sunbathing...

Hence the on-trend chrysalis look.

And here's another solution to everyones problems...

We get the sunshine, the vitamin D, the sea to swim in, the real Mediterrean diet and charming Greek Gods and in return, the Greeks get some dosh. Everyone's happy.

Thank you Zelda for a wonderful holiday and it's only sunday, I think.

Getting on my nerves

Apparently the stabbing pains which happen when you least expect them, are the nerves re-knitting, according to the onc.

I like the idea of this. Somewhere in old tit land, there's a group of nerves in a knitting group, clattering away with their needles, attempting to make things better.

So the next time it happens I'll know it's just some nerve who has lost their knitting needles.

Chemo'd fingernails?

A brilliant solution, Superdrug's 3 in 1 base coat, ridge filler & growth enhancer. It makes your nails as strong as an ox and is as cheap as chipped fingernails. So at least your hooves will feel better?

Another year older and deeper in ...

Even the wrapping paper looks sad, the soggy Jubilee was a bit of a wash out and I'm a year older.

I actually had a wonderful birthday in Cornwall and was looked after by some lovely friends. Lucy made me a fantastic cake, the sun shone in Cornwall and Polly showed us around Padstein. Susie celebrated our 30 year anniversary by giving me a necklace of enormous pearls, Ollie 'surround sound' Waxer made us all terrific fajitas and I was very spoilt. I met the only man, Dom (an Ocean scientist) who has seen killer whales off the Cornish coast, and Ashley, a famous and pretty and clever surfer. Oh and I met a very handsome snake called Sebastian.
